Becoming a Better Nurse Stress-Free Nursing The New Nurse or Graduate Nurse

Problematic Hospital Applications

It’s been three different hospitals in three states. Each one began with an application process. I have avoided some based on the process. These are just a few things that bothered me, no matter the position.

#1 The website

Some hospital’s websites are the most out-of-date websites I’ve seen since the days of dial-up internet and chat rooms. A website that is hard to navigate doesn’t give me the best first impression on the organization. Nowadays, anyone can start and run a website, so how do some hospitals not update since 1996? The navigation, overall look, and user interface are hard to use.

#2 Filling out the same information

Several of the websites, once you click careers to begin a search, you’re prompted to make a username and password and fill out past work experience skills and other typical found on a job application. You enter a long list of vacant job positions after completing those fields than . The same questions are posed whenever a position is selected. Why can’t these use the information already put in for any job selection? It would be much easier to go in and make additional job inquiries.

#3 Still a resume

After all the inputs then the site asks to upload your resume. The resume holds all the information already given. If the information has already been entered, why is the resume necessary? If the Manager interviewing needs a reference, why couldn’t they print out the identical information? In contrast, some hospitals have you upload your resume and software reduces the information and fills in the prompts. The applier needs to complete and verify everything. Extremely efficient.

#4 Terminology

Three hospitals, three states, and three rounds of interview processes. Terminology, depends on the organization: Charge, supervisor and Assistant Manager could all be the same or similar job roles. Along with the division of nurse experience, such as New Graduate, Nurse or Nurse 1, 2, 3, or 4, the division and specification between nurses are all different depending on the organization. But it drives me crazy that the same job, same duties with different names but the same title means something else, somewhere.

The application process of hospitals is unnecessarily repetitive and expansive. As stated earlier is the first impression. Ever been discouraged to apply because of their website?
