The nurse deals with struggles and triumphs every day. This blog is created to aid and support in the community of nurses and nursing students, by exemplary of experience. All nurses have been students, worked your first shift, and had patients that reminded us why we chose this career, it’s these experiences we share a comradery.
When I was younger, the writing was a necessary, short story, poems, and novellas. Somewhere between high school and college, the priority shifted from self-expression and creativity to education and finding a career. Throughout the education process and well into the beginning of my career self-expression roughly became reflection through journaling. After beginning my first nursing position, I wanted to refine my writing craft. A combination of writing what you know and the compassion to aid the next group of nurses through the same struggles, triumphs, and challenges that I had just accomplished.
I am a Registered Nurse. I have my BSN and I’m a Medical-Surgical Certified Nurse. As an adult learner, nursing is my second career. My experiences gave me several perspectives and a compulsion to share and help those with similar struggles. I’ve work in Austin, TX on a Med/Surg unit, than Reno, NV on an Orthopedic, Covid, and Medical-Telemetry unit. I now live in CT with my husband and dogs. I enjoy writing, reading, walking my dog, and traveling.
I hope by sharing my experience and lessons that the next person will have an easier time or at least realize that are not alone.
